Latitude-redux
D-FuseLatitude_Redux is a condensed extract from D-Fuse’s live sonic cinema performance with the split screen representing the 2 screens used in the live show. With music by Matthais Kispert (D-Fuse) it is inspired by the notion of drifting through the land + soundscapes of China and uses fragments of conversations, lights, + architectural forms to trace the multitudes of paths, identities + influences which make up the rapidly changing urban environments of Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing.
Founded by Michael Faulkner in the mid-1990s, D-Fuse is a group of designers and artists who reflect on the key relationship between sound + image in a wide range of creative media, from web, print and mobile media to art and architecture, live A/V performances, TV and film.
Latitude was shot by D-Fuse together with local artists during a 3 month research period in China [supported by the British Council and the Arts Council England]. Soon to be available as part of D-Fuse DVD/BlueRay/HD DVD focusing on China and urban culture, that will include other D-Fuse films including Brilliant City.
